The third day of the 2013 YKAA Summer camp was even more fun and exciting. As announced yesterday, we had special guests YTN (Korean News Channel) directors and producer from Korea. They were filming a documentary about Korean language and history and culture learning.
2013 YKAA Summer Camp 셋째 날은 더욱 재미있고 신이 났습니다. 어제 예고한 바와 같이 한국 YTN 방송국에서 우리 캠프를 취재하려 오셨습니다. YTN에서는 한국어 및 한국 역사문화 교육의 중요성에 대한 다큐멘터리를 제작하여 오는 10월 9일 한글날에 방영할 예정이라고 합니다. 학생들은 취재하러 오신 분들을 모두 환영하고 자연스럽게 인터뷰에 응하고 수업도 더 열심히 하였습니다.
Teacher JeongEum lectured about today’s theme, “Land of Scholars, Joseon.” She reviewed the previous day’s lecture and then talked about how Joseon was established and ruled by seonbis or Sadaebus. She likened seonbi to gentlemen in Western countries and the Samurai from Japan. The students compared Scholars from the Joseon era to today’s leaders in a Venn Diagram and presented the comparisons they made. They also wrote acrostic poems with the words seonbi, 선비 or 삼강오륜
오늘의 전체 강의는 정음 선생님이 '학자의 나라 조선'에 대하여 강의해 주셨습니다. 먼저 지난 시간에 배운 내용을 점검하고 조선이 어떻게 세워졌는지와 선비와 사대부가 다스린 조선에 대하여 강의해 주셨습니다. 선비와 서양의 신사 및 일본의 사무라이와의 비교를 해보기도 했습니다.
학생들은 조선의 선비와 오늘날의 리더들의 다른 점고 비슷한 점을 벤다이어그램으로 비교하여 표현해 보았고 SEONBI, 6글자와 선비 그리고 삼강오륜으로 6행시, 2행시, 4행시를 지어서 발표하였습니다. 학생들의 작품은 사진 앨범에서 보실 수 있습니다.
Teacher JeongEum described the moral rules and ideas during the Joseon Dynasty such as Confucianism and 삼강오륜. Students compared Confucian idea and lifestyle to modern idea and lifestyle.
전체 강의에서 조선의 기본적인 사상인 유교와 삼강오륜을 살펴보았고 오늘의 생각과 생활방식과 비교해 보았습니다.
Teacher JeongEum introduced historical figures during the Joseon Dynasty found on Korean currency notes, Yi Yulgok, Yi Hwang, Shin Saimdang, King Sejong, and Admiral Yi Sun-sin.
오늘날 대한민국의 화폐에 사용되는 인물들이 모두 조선시대 인물이어서 화폐를 통하여 인물에 대한 공부를 했습니다. 이율곡, 이황, 신사임당, 세종대왕 그리고 이순신 장군입니다.
The camp leaders presented on different topics about Joseon. They researched assigned parts and prepared some props and materials for the presentation. Day by day the leaders role has been increased at the camp.
캠프 리더들은 조선 시대에 대하여 맡은 주제를 연구하여 발표하였습니다. 나날이 캠프에서 리더들의 역할이 강조되고 많아졌습니다.
After the lecture, all campers divided into four groups (One direction, Jikji, Seonbi and Obok) and did classroom activities.
전체 강의를 마치고 학생들은 4그룹으로 나뉘어서 교실에서 프로젝트를 수행했습니다.
Today's snack, the royal court rice pasta Ddeokbokki, represented the dignity of Joseon spirit.
오늘의 간식은 오늘날 한국의 가장 대표적인 간식으로 자리잡은 떡볶이가 실제는 조선 시대 궁중 요리에서 왔음을 알리고 조선 시대 궁중 요리인 궁중 떡볶이를 함께 먹었습니다.
After the snack they had another class activity. Afterward, all teams gave presentations on "Who is the best Seonbi" and the Seonbi poems and essay. The third day ended with everyone dancing and singing "Dokdo is Korean land".
간식을 마친 후에 다음 활동을 계속하였고 모든 학생들이 함께 모여 훌륭한 선비 선발대회 및 선비 6행시 짓기 및
에세이 대회를 가졌습니다. 캠프 셋째날도 즐거운 가운데 '독도는 우리 땅' 노래를 부르며 마쳤습니다.
