The first day of the 2014 YKAA Summer Camp ended successfully with 22 students and 7 teachers.

Teacher DaeJangGeum introduced the objective and goals of the camp. Quoting one of the greatest Korean historians Shin Chaeho, “People who forget the history of their country has no future," she emphasized the importance of learning history. Then, teachers and leaders were introduced.

Teacher DaeJangGeum lectured about today’s theme, “THE OPEN PORT PERIOD (1860-1910).”  The lesson objectives of today were:

We held 2014 YKAA Camp Leader Training on August 9th, 2014. It started with introduction and ice break games. All the leaders presented their own book review. Leaders had an assignment to read "Under the Black Umbrella." They were divided into 4 teams named Under the One Umbrella, Seoulful, P.I. N. K. (Peace is near Korea), Peace of Mind and assigned their roles each day.

• Target age: 5th grade and above (based for the 2014-2015 school year)
• Fee: $100--> Thanks to the Korean Consulate San Francisco (주샌프란시스코총영사관), Overseas Koreans Foundation (재외동포재단), and Kim Koo Foundation for their support in helping us to reduce the program cost. Those who had already paid according to the previous fee plan will receive a refund of the price difference on the first day of camp. (Announced on July 25, 2014)
